Help For Maine's Veterans: Website Offers Legal Information And Resources

In a cooperative effort, local nonprofit organization Pine Tree Legal Assistance and the Arkansas Legal Services Partnership have launched Stateside Legal, a website for veterans, current military members and their families and advocates.

The objective of this comprehensive, interactive website is to help veterans:

  • Access their benefits
  • Find free legal help
  • Better understand their legal issues

In addition to providing easy-to-understand relevant and helpful information, Stateside Legal also includes interactive forms, videos, legal analysis and links to other military-related organizations.

A “smart search” helps users find information that applies to them and is exactly what they are looking for. An online library archives summaries of major federal laws and benefits for those with a connection to the military. A listing of free legal help and advocacy services can also be found on the website.

Some of the helpful information that can be found on the site regard: taxes, Social Security, public benefits, immigration, housing, health care, family law, estate planning, employment, education, and consumer and civil rights.

The Law Offices of Joe Bornstein encourages veterans and members of the military to consult Stateside Legal to get advice on their legal problems. We have been fortunate to represent many veterans in our 36-year history and are proud to pass along this legal aid website to those who may be in need.
